InterActions - Standard Access IE 5.0 and Outlook Express 5.0 Before Starting Your Internet Setup Please note that (default) means the option should already be set and appears on your screen. Make sure the "Caps Lock" Button is not on before starting this setup. 1. Double Click the "Connect to the Internet" icon on your desktop. OR - Go to the start button, choose "Settings", "Control Panel". Double click the "Internet Options" icon, click the "connections" tab at the top, then press the "setup" button in the top-righthand corner. 2. Choose option 3 - "I want to setup my Internet Connection manually" - click NEXT 3. Choose "I connect through a phone line and a modem". - Click NEXT 4. Enter the Phone number you are dialing - our number is 745-7920. Be sure that '709' is your area code and choose Canada as the country. check "Dial using the area and country code" Click the Advanced button. Then choose the "addresses" tab on the new window that appears. Under DNS server address, click the option "always use the following". Primary DNS - 198.165.106.1 Alternate DNS - 198.165.106.6 Click OK Click NEXT 5. Enter your username and password. Remember that the username and password are all in lower case. - Click NEXT 6. Connection Name: Remove what appears in the space provided and type "InterActions" in the space provided. - Click "NEXT" 7. Setup your Internet Mail Account - Choose "yes" and Click "NEXT" 8. Your Name - type in your full name - Click "NEXT" 9. Internet Email Address - type in your email address - Click "NEXT" 10. Email Server Names Choose POP3 as the Server Type (default) Incoming Mail - mail.nfld.com Outgoing Mail - mail.nfld.com Click - "NEXT" 11. Internet Mail Logon Type in your account name and password in the spaces provided. - Click "NEXT" 12. Click Finish Setting your default start page. Right Click the Internet Explorer icon. Choose "Properties" from the bottom of the menu. Under "homepage", a space is provided to fill in your default start page. Erase what appears in the space marked "address" and type the following www.nfld.com Click "apply", then click "ok". Your Internet Explorer setup is now complete The dial-up connection box will now appear on your screen. You may press the "connect" button to access the Internet. Disabling Call Waiting Do you have call waiting? If so, the following instructions will help you disable that feature while you are on the Internet. 1. Open your control panel by clicking your "start" button, then choose "settings", "control panel". 2. In the control panel, double click "modems". 3. Click the button marked "Dialing Properties". 4. Place a check mark next to the option "This location has call waiting. To disable it, dial". Place *70, in the drop down box. Press "ok" and close the control panel.
