InterActions Windows 98 Setup / Windows 95 with IE 4.0 and Outlook Express Before Starting Your Internet Setup Please note that (default) means the option should already be set and appears on your screen. Make sure the "Caps Lock" Button is not on before starting this setup. 1. Go to the start button, choose "Programs", "Internet Explorer" and click "Internet Connection Wizard" 2. Choose option 2 - "I have an existing Internet Account" - click NEXT 3. Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using - Choose "Internet Service Provider" (default). - Click NEXT 4. Setup your Internet Connection. Choose "Connect using my phone line" (default) - click NEXT. 5. Enter the Phone number you are dialing - our number is 745-7920. Be sure that '709' is your area code and choose Canada as the country. check "Dial using the area and country code" - Click NEXT 6. Entering your username and password. Remember that the username and password are all in lower case. - Click NEXT 7. Advanced Settings, choose "Yes" - Click NEXT 8. Choose Connection Type "PPP" (default) - Click NEXT 9. Logon Procedure: Choose "I don't need to type anything" (default) - Click NEXT 10. IP Address: Choose "My Internet Service Provider automatically assigns me one" (default) - Click NEXT 11. DNS: Choose "Always use the following". Primary DNS - 198.165.106.1 Alternate DNS - 198.165.106.6 - Click NEXT 12. Dial-Up Connection Name Remove what appears in the space provided and type "InterActions" in the space provided. - Click "NEXT" 13. Setup your Internet Mail Account - Choose "yes" and Click "NEXT" 14. Your Name - type in your full name - Click "NEXT" 15. Internet Email Address - type in your email address - Click "NEXT" 16. Email Server Names Choose POP3 as the Server Type (default) Incoming Mail - mail.nfld.com Outgoing Mail - mail.nfld.com Click - "NEXT" 17. Internet Mail Logon Choose "Log on Using" - Then type in your username under "POP account name" and your password in the space provided. 18. Friendly Name - "mail.nfld.com" (default) - Click "NEXT" 19. Setup Your Internet News Account - Choose "Yes" - Click "NEXT" 20. Your name - enter your name - Click "NEXT" 21. Internet News Email Address - enter your email address - Click "NEXT" 22. Internet News Server Name - Type in the InterActions news server name news.nfld.com 23. Friendly Name - This will default to news.nfld.com - Click "NEXT" 24. Setup your Internet Directory Services - Choose "No" - Click "NEXT" 25. Click Finish and continue to page 3 of the instructions. Once finished, you will have two new icons on your desktop 1. Outlook Express (small 'e' with a letter) 2. Internet Explorer (big blue 'e') Setting your default start page Right Click the Internet Explorer icon. Choose "Properties" from the bottom of the menu. Under "homepage", a space is provided to fill in your default start page. Type the following into the space marked "address" http://www.nfld.com Click "apply", then click "ok". Your Internet Explorer setup is now complete Setting up your Outlook Express Mail Double click the Outlook Express icon. Press "ok" to choose a default folder in which you will keep your mail messages. Then choose "Don't dial a connection" on the next window, and place a check-mark in the box next to "Set as the default start-up connection" - Click "OK". Close Outlook Express. Your Outlook Express setup is now complete. 1. You have now finished the entire InterActions setup. Please re-start your computer to have the settings take effect.
